Have you always wanted to learn the harp but never had the opportunity? Or has it seemed like an impossible dream, or perhaps just a little too daunting?

Megan is an experienced teacher of over 20 years standing and holds a current Working With Children Check. Her teaching experience ranges from private studio based lessons, to serving as Harp Tutor for the Australian Youth Orchestra and conducting adult Harp for Beginner classes for Nillumbik Living and Learning Centres. She is currently on staff at Fintona Girls School and Ivanhoe Girls Grammar.

Megan is able to provide lessons for both beginners and the more advanced on either lever or pedal harp. Anyone from the age of 8 to 80 will be considered!

The ability to read music is desirable but not essential. As well as focusing on harp technique Megan spends time looking at general theory, music history and all different angles of harp playing. Individual lessons are enhanced with regular harp ensembles, masterclasses and even the chance to make your own CD!

Megan can prepare candidates for both AMEB, ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall exams if they wish. In 2018, Megan’s exam students averaged 91%. However, no pressure is ever placed upon a student to undertake an examination if they do not wish.

 A number of small harps are available for hire so you can try before you buy. Teaching session times are limited so please contact Megan for more information.

In person lessons are based in Doreen. Megan also teaches extensively online to accommodate students around Melbourne, Victoria and Australia!
